Normalization of the End Climate change impacts everything causing changes to the way of life and property on earth. Human activities majorly scientific inventions have been the cause of climate change (Climates architecture and the planetary imaginary, 2016, p. 297). Therefore, it is important to understand human impact on the environment under the present political and economic conditions to the current housing and settlement patterns so as to contemporize a vision for our future. Climate change, architecture and human activities are interconnected. Human activities cause climate change which eventually impacts architectural designs (Climates architecture and the planetary imaginary, 2016, p. 298). In climate change is the most feared catastrophe which has caused a threat to human lives and impacted architecture as well. Human conduct and impacts on the environment should be taken into consideration because it is the major cause of the issue of climate change and other architectural issues. Understanding human impacts are important in putting all these problems to an end (The Nomalization of the End, Slide 4).
We should stop fearing the immediate threat but instead fear the causative agent of the threat. Even if the issue of climate change is resolved, mitigated and put to an end, the existing problems will not have been solved (Klein, 2014, p. 4). Climate change will still emerge and keep existing as the human impacts will continue to give rise to climate change which also impacts architecture. We need to talk about social issues and scientific issues as they will help to shape the way we strive to address our most feared climatic and architectural issues (The Nomalization of the End, Slide 50). Understanding human impacts can help to predict the future. In essence, the climate change issue is not unique to climate science but a human nature and that is why the emphasis should be on human impacts.
