At Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) I have engaged in rigorous coursework in zoology and botany, and also in physics, chemistry, philosophy, humanities, mathematics and psychology. As a freshman, I enrolled in a Plant Signal Transduction honors research tutorial that focused on fundamental molecular mechanisms that govern a plant’s response to its environment.

I am applying to Harvard’s doctoral program in economics in pursuit of a career in academic research. I entered economics research because I enjoy modeling real-world situations with math. This interest was confirmed by my research work, which included projects on mortgages, optimal surveys, and consumer savings.

When I came to college I wanted to be a doctor. I was going to study biology, pick up a second major along the way, and go to medical school to become a rural practitioner. I soon realized that I was suffering from my own version of “Med. Student Syndrome.”

I’m a math major with a physics minor at Arizona State University and my research interests are algebraic geometry and algebraic number theory. Some of the professors I’d potentially like to work with at Ohio State University are Emanuele Macri and Wenzhi Luo.

My ultimate goal is to complete my doctorate so that I can teach future teachers, conduct research within the classroom, and make a contribution to the improvement of mathematics education.

Computer scientists and artists are alike. Just like artists express their unlimited imaginations on their works, computer scientists create programs to express their own kind of imaginations, which is about a better world with advanced technology.

Sensory perception inspired my interest in neuroscience. As a classically trained vocalist, I first became fascinated by how auditory stimuli evoke emotional responses, which grew into a passion for understanding how sensory perception connects the physical and the mental worlds.

I introduce myself as a student of the undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering at CVR College of Engineering affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (Hyderabad). I use this opportunity to elucidate my career objectives and give in quintessence of my educational background.

I was born and raised in a city that can trace its roots back to the Roman legionary fort of Deva, in a house that dates back to the Reformation, and studied at a university that predated Columbus by three centuries. So what could America have that I didn’t already have in abundance where I was?

When I was a freshman in high school, I took my first computer programming class.  Because of my aptitude within the class, my teacher urged me to participate in a programming contest with two of my classmates.  I’ve been interested in computers ever since.
